“Trusted Traveller” by Yuri Pattison at Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen, 20th May - 6th August 2017
Co-working spaces, newsrooms as factories for the post-factual era, and logistics centres of online megastores are the focus of Irish artist Yuri Pattison. Pattison’s artistic world, featuring routers, humidifiers, surveillance cameras, office plants, and replicas of design classics, oscillates between the sculptural and digital, playing with control mechanisms. His immersive installation, “Trusted Traveller,” transforms Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen into a projection surface for contemporary life. This installation explores the infrastructure of travel and the notion of a borderless global world, using the airport as a metaphor for paranoia, isolation, and fiction. Through materials and precise object settings, Pattison creates a realistic yet not hyperrealistic world. The exhibition includes cable ducts, controlled lighting, and visibility filters to guide visitors’ gazes, along with films showing model worlds and invented passports that explore identity and borders.

Rabenschwarzer Tag für die Berner Young Boys, extase auf der Tribüne!
Es zog mich wieder mal in die Schweiz und zwar erwartete mich das Spiel zwischen dem FC St.Gallen und den Young Boys aus Bern.
Begonnen hat St.Gallen mit einer souveränen Choreo, nicht die schönste, aber auch nicht die schlechteste. Durchschnittlich. Leider hab ich vom Support nicht viel mitbekommen können, da ich sehr nah am Gästeblock sass. Das was ich mitbekommen habe kann man aber als solide einstufen.
Ich erwartete ein Brett und bekam eine ganze Wand! Auf dem Spielfeld spielten die Gelb-Schwarzen miserabel, schnell stands 2:0, aber der Gästekurve war das herzlichst egal. Während ich einen Fall der Stimmung erwartet habe wurde Bern immer lauter und gab sich nicht auf. Melodisch ist auch einiges dabei gewesen was man so in Deutschland nicht kennt. Bern hat einfach nur spass gemacht.
Bern verlor das Spiel mit 4:0 und zeigte, was in Deutschland kaum vorstellbar ist, dass auch als amtierender Meister so ein miserabler Saisonstart passieren kann und gaben dem Team auch nach dem Spiel mit, dass sie 90 Minuten lang Alarm machen werden.
Brutal, ich persönlich hatte Gänsehaut und für mich steht fest, dass das Stadion Wankdorf ganz weit nach oben gerückt ist auf meiner to do Liste!
